Mayan Ook Catalogue

These are images I shot for the Mayan Ook project, the cool fair trade ankle accessory made by Mayan women on the Yucatan peninsula, which I talked about in this post. We had a wonderful location and a great day in Quintana Roo with three local girls who were not professional models, yet did a great job following my instructions, sitting in uncomfortable poses for as long as was necessary, soaking in chilly cenote water and changing their looks very rapidly, from beach to casual to dressing up, demonstrating various outfits that Mayan Ook looks good with. Anyone will tell you that it’s not easy being a model, especially for projects other than “beautiful photos of you”, but they were wonderful to work with, and it was a lot of fun spending so much time in tropical jungle! If you are in Mexico, you can learn more about Mayan Ook on their Facebook page.
