I always get lucky with people I take photos of, they are not only beautiful and unique, but also are very interesting to get to know. Zau is creative, radiant, direct and kind, in conversations she dives right into the heart of things. Her radiance comes from being connected to the Universe around her and within her, to the moment of Herenow, from her ability to listen deeply and to see clearly, beyond what is put into words. We enjoyed a walk through Kuzminki park in Moscow on a nice sunny afternoon, when days were so long they lasted into the night. The park had some developed areas with historical buildings and monuments as well as some wilder areas with spiderweb-like trails running through the woods – which is where we headed in search of those perfect shots and solutions to life’s mysteries. We covered a lot of territory – both with our feet and conversations. As we walked, we were listening to which places would call us in for a photo. For a balanced picture to be born, there needs to be the right combination of direct and ambient light, background colors and overall mood of the scene. The person being photographed needs to be relaxed and comfortable, and in connection with their environment. However, those are just preparations for being lucky. True magic begins when everyone involved in a photoshoot is feeling that divine spark of creativity which gives birth to art, novelty and beauty. Inspiration, Flow, visit from the Muse – whatever you call it, it was there when we walked and co-created our photographs, and when Zau played her harp, spreading light through sound in all directions. My intention during the shoot was to capture her radiance and depth, as well as deep sense of connection to the Universe.
